17-year-old Indomitable lions forward, Angel Yondjo has finished top goal scorer, in the just ended UNIFFAC U-17 tournament finals held on Wednesday , January 18,2023 in Limbe.

The Ecole de Football des Brasseries du Cameroon conscript, grabbed the best goal scorer trophy with a total number of three goals scored and two assists. Adding to his top goal scoring award, was that of best player of the tournament.

With two victories won against Congo and the Central African Republic, Coach Jean Pierre Fiala and boys emerged overall champions and have ticket a spot for the U-17 AFCON tournament, slated for April in Algeria.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon won the 2019 Under 17 African cup of Nations (U-17 AfCON), after beating the Syli national of Guinea on April 28 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The winning goal was scored during the penalty-kicks, as the match ended 0-0 in normal time.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper Ekoi Manfred, stopped the Guinean fourth penalty, kicked by Mohamed Sacko, giving Cameroon the chance to win after Saidou Alioum Moubarak scored the last kick.

The U-17 Lions scored 5 penalties, while their Guinean counterparts only scored 3. It was Cameroon’s second U-17 Nations Cup champions title after that of 2003.
