Cameroon international forward karl Toko Ekambi, has sign for the French League One side Stade Rennais on loan till June 2025.
This has been upon the completion of his medical session, on January, Thursday 26, 2023 in France.
Karl Toko Ekambi (30 years old), under contract with Olympique Lyonnais until 2024, has reportedly had an agreement with Stade Rennes for a loan deal without an option to buy, valid until the end of the current season. It is an opportunity for the Ligue 1 side to have a short term solution to fill the long planned absence of Martin Terrier.
The former Sochaux goal poacher owns 30 goals and 13 assists in 84 matches with Lyon, 30-year-old Ekambi will therefore have the opportunity to restore his image and find his best form after being the target of criticism from the supporters of Groupama Stadium.
With 160 matches in Ligue 1 (56 goals and 26 assists), Ekambi can still add value to a team fighting for European places in 2022/2023.
The player will complete his medical scheduled for Thursday, Foot Mercato revealed. As a reminder, the Indomitable Lion became undesirable in Lyon after being whistled by part of the public. According to Bruno Genesio, the 30-year-old striker will be an ideal player for Stade Rennais.
