French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille who are currently attending the 2022 FIFA World Cup have taken interest in Seattle Sounders FC and Cameroon defender Nouhou Tolo following his outstanding performance during the tournament.
According to our sources the Tolo’s performance during the event – especially in Cameroon’s 1-0 win against Brazil last Friday has left the scouting team pondering on how to take the player away from the Major League Soccer.
We understand the player has been recommending to coach Paulo Foncesca who is keen on landing a left-back in the January window.
If all go smoothly, then Lille could table a bid for the former Daga Sport full-back and try to sign him before the close of the window.
Tolo,24, played all three good games for Cameroon during the World Cup, and helped the Indomitable Lions keep a rare clean sheet against a star-spangled Brazilian side.
Earlier this year, the player who linked with a move to Olympique Marseille after his great performance at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
Tolo is seeing out the last months of his present Seattle Sounders FC contract and has never been against a move to Europe.
A move to Lille will link his up with compatriot Carlos Baleba who has been in Northern France since January 2021 after switching from famous Cameroon Football Academy EFBC.
