26-year-old former Indomitable Lions glove man, Andre Onana, has featured among the list of nominees for the title, of best goalkeeper of the year award organized by the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History & Statistics).
The Inter Milan catch-man, recently decided to take his International retirement, amidst a misunderstanding that broke out between head coach Rigobert Song and him.
Onana will be competing in the same category alongside; Senegal’s Édouard Mendy, and Morocco’s Yassine Bounou.
He has been on the radar of this coveted award 3 times prior to this 2022 nomination. He made the cut in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
In 2021, the title for best goalkeeper awarded by IFFHS went to Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
