The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have recorded an impressive ten place rise, in the latest coca-cola FIFA rankings published this week.

According to the release from FIFA, Vincent Aboubakar and his mates have moved from 43rd in the World to 33rd, this following the team’s great though unsatisfactory performance at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.

The rankings established based on results recorded between November and December 2022 sees Cameroon rise above Algeria and Nigeria who both failed to make it to the World Cup.

The latest move place the Indomitable Lions on the fourth spot in the continental rankings – only below Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia who all had a satisfactory 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Rigobert Song inspired Cameroon team played five matches within the period in question. They recorded three draws, a defeat and a historic victory against five times World champions Brazil.

The progress is one of the highest Cameroon has made in recent years and highlights efforts made by the current FECAFOOT administration to reach new heights.

Cameroon’s best rankings was achieved some decades ago when the country reached the top ten after winning back to back AFCON titles.
