The Cameroon senior women’s handball national team grabbed their second win in the African Women’s Handball Championship, after imposing a 42-9 domination against Madagascar, on Friday, November 11,2022 , at the Dakar Arena .

Drawn in pool C, Yuoh Yvette, Touba Biolo and mates have taken the lead on Madagascar and host Senegal. Coach Serge Guebogo and girls shall lock horns against host Senegal in their last game .

The Cameroonian side had crushed Ivory Coast in their first outing, on a 28-16 score.

The last encounter between Cameroon and Ivory Coast in the African Women’s Handball Championship, was during the 23rd edition of the tournament in 2018,in Congo Brazzaville.

The Ivorian team failed to reach the quarter-finals of the competition since 2010.As well as failed to qualify for the 2020 edition of the competition held in Cameroon.

Cameroon is chasing it’s first title in the African Women’s Handball Championship, after coming closest last year, when the team finished as vice-champions losing to Angola in the finals.A fail to uplift the trophy this year, will see them wait for the 2023 edition.
