The African soccer governing body has announced the postponement of the date of the draws for the 2021 African Nations Cup finals, Afriksportsmagazine.Com reports.

The biennial tournament supposed to have come up in 2021 but was postponed due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic which affected Sporting activities across the World.  It was postponed to 2022 while the name of 2021 was upheld in order not to cause confusion.

CAF has earlier fixed the date for the draws for June 25th 2021 in Yaounde, Cameroon after the completion of the qualifiers in March 2021.

According to the reports coming from the football body headquarters in Cairo on Sunday, the date has been shifted to a later date that is yet to be announced.

The reasons for the postponement was not disclosed and it might be as a result of the corona virus pandemic issues that is still ongoing across the continent.  Cameroon will host the entire Africa in 2022 after losing the 2019 edition to Egypt.
