The stage is set for the 2021 Minifootball Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Ibadan as Egypt and Libya will fight for the title in today, Afriksportsmagazine.com can report.

In the first semifinal played yesterday  at the Ilaji International Mini-Stadium, it was an intriguing encounter as Libya had to come from behind twice to beat Ghana 2-0 on penalties after a 2-2 regulation time score.  Libya were down by a goal in the first half but got themselves back in the game early in the second half.

 

Not long after Libya’s leveller, Ghana took the lead again but towards the end of the game, Libya equalised and with no further goal scored in the extra time, the north African progressed via penalty shootouts.

 

In the second semifinal game, it was an easy ride for Egypt as they crushed defending champions, Ivory Coast 3-0.  With this, Egypt will trade tackles with Libya in the final of the 2nd Minifootball African Cup of Nations today at the Ilaji Minifootball pitch in Ibadan.

 

Meanwhile, Nigeria picked the World Cup ticket emerging fifth as the best losers after losing the quarter-finals match to Ghana but defeat Burkina Faso to emerge fifth team that will represent Africa at the Minifootball World Cup in Ukraine
