Zamalek’s president Mortada Mansour ,on Thursday,January 5,2023 announced the club’s withdrawal from the Egyptian Premier League.
After the home 1-1 draw game against El Dahlegia, which increased the difference from the league supremo Al Ahli.

The strong Zamalek man,unleashed anti-referee rants at the press conference. While, announcing the club’s exit from the league.
“We are not willing to continue to participate, in this farce set-up by the referees to give the championship to our eternal rival” , President Mansour said.

Adding to that, Mansour then launched attacks on his own team, imposing a fine equal to 20% of the annual earnings of all the players and the club’s staff.
