30-year old Teranga Lions’ talisman Sadio Mane has been ruled out of the 22 edition of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, following his recent limp injury sustained during the Bavaria clash against Schalke on Sunday.
It was on Thursday,November 17,2022 that the Senegalese Football Federation via her social media platform confirmed about Mane’s unavailability for the team and ended by wishing him a speedy recovery.
The 2021African’s Cup gold medalist, is expected to undergo a surgerical operation subsequently.
Mane’s absence is considered to be a huge blow for coach Aliou Cisse and team mates, who had bestowed much confidence on the goal poacher following his excellent scoring potentials.
Senegal faces Netherlands in Group A, opener on Tuesday before meeting host Qatar and Ecuador.
