28-year-old Cameroonian international basketball player, Joel Embiid was named the Eastern Conference player of the month for his efforts throughout December 2022,on Tuesday.
This award is Joel Embiid’s fifth time being recognized as Eastern Conference player of the month. The Sixers’ star center, powered the team to a 9-4 record in the month of December, which also saw an eight-game win streak, including a 7-0 homestead.
During December, Embiid scored 30 points with more ten times, including at 53 point game against the Charlotte Hornets. “The Process”, also ended the month with a triple-double against the Oklahoma City Thunder on New Year’s Eve.
Joel Embiid is second in the league in scoring, averaging 33.5 points per game, behind Luka Doncic by less than one point . Embiid and Doncic seems to be fighting for the scoring title, every single night since November. He is also averaging a career-high in assists (4.6), steals (1.2), and field goal percentage (53%) this season.
