Raissa Nnanga and Brenda Tabe Ebika both scored a brace in the opener of the Guinness Super League for Lekie FF against Eclair de Sa’a.
With FECAFOOT boss Samuel Eto’o in attendance amongst other dignitaries at the Omnisport annex stadium on Saturday, the opener of the most watched women’s league in Central Africa ended in a six-goal thriller, with three players getting a brace.
With all the hype and expectations, Brenda Tabe did not disappoint after her big money move from AWA to Lekie. Her teammate Raissa Nnanga put up a woman of the match display with a brace as well.
Erstwhile Caiman Filles forward Eliane Bibout scored the game’s opener at the 10th minute.
Newcomers Lekie FF wasted no time to pull parity. The ladies of coach Stephane Nzana equalized through Tabe Brenda just three minutes later.
Another lady making her debut, Raissa Nnanga, got her first of two goals at the 20th minute, before she completely turned the game on its head at the 28th minute with Lekie’s 3rd.
After the pose, Tabe’s second and Lekie’s fourth meant no way back for Eclair who perhaps was missing the ever hard working Ngock Monique in midfeild.
Eliane Bibout was the silverlining in her team’s performance. The forward got a brace of her own in the 68th minute.
Lekie held on to clinch a gargantuan victory in the history of the club and the league. For the ‘Guinnessico’ player of the match, Nnanga was neck-on-neck with Tabe and Bibout but she won the little piece of personal accolade.
The next round of matches will follow on Sunday, January 15.
