Ignatius Ganago, Jean Charles Castelletto and Nantes have reached a second French Cup Final, as Ludovic Blas’ 57th minute super goal gave the title holders, a last four victory over Lyon on Wednesday, March 5.

Nantes started brightly on Wednesday, as they continued their bid for a 5th French Cup.

Jean- Charles Castelletto was denied an opening goal in just second minute, by goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, who also saved from Blas’ 20 minutes later.

Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed missed good chances either side of halftime, calling Lopes into action again before blazing wide.

Bradley Barcola went close to a late equalizer, as Lyon lately woke up. But Nantes held on for a deserving win.

Ignatius Ganago’s side are already mind-oriented towards the April 29 grande finale, at the Stade de France against either Toulouse or Annecy.

Nantes, whose cup triumph last season was their first major trophy since winning the league in 2001,have a golden chance of a successful defense.

It is worth noting that, 14-times winners PSG suffered a second early exit in the last 16 round, to Marseille, who were then eliminated by Annecy.
