Wilfred Nana was on target for a second time this season after Cyrille Ngando’s early goal, as Fovu club of Baham defeated AS Fortuna 2-0 upon resumption of the MTN Elite One.
Fovu outclassed Fortuna at the jam-packed Ngoa Ekelle stadium in the weekend’s MTN Elite One action.
Cyrille Ngando struck early in the contest after just 6 minutes of play, much to the bemusement of goalkeeper Decharles Minko.
AS Fortuna came to this one on the back of just one win in their last 5 and they upped their game midway through the first half in a bid to change the game’s complexion.
However, Fovu clutched on and added another to ensure all three points with new recruit, Wilfred Nana hitting target at the 67th minute from the penalty spot.
The win was dire for Fovu and saw them skip to second on the log with 18 points, two adrift leaders Bamboutos FC who lost against Yong Sports Academy in Mbouda.
The title race has now intensified with chunks of the season still to go.
