Reports have claimed that Chelsea are prepared to offer Edouard Mendy in exchange for ex cameroonian international goalkeeper, Andre Onana.

According to Inter Live, the Blues are willing to pay at least £35m for the deal, however they could look to include 31-year-old 2021 AFCON winner Edouard Mendy in the deal to sweeten it.

Onana, 26, joined the Nerazzurri last summer on a free transfer after ending a seven-year spell with Ajax, being brought in to be the long-term replacement for Samir Handanovic.

After missing Inter’s first eight Serie A games of the season, Onana has established himself as their outright No1, keeping 14 clean sheets in 27 games across all competitions.

Mendy hasn’t been at his best for Chelsea this season after battling injuries and loss of form. The Senegalese international has also lost his number one spot to Spanish shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Onana, who is now Inter’s number one shot-stopper, has kept a combined total of 14 cleansheets in 27 appearances for the Nerrazuri.

His fine form in-between the sticks has contributed to Inter Milan’s success so far this season. Onana’s team have already won the Supercopa Italia trophy this season, beating rivals AC Milan 3:0. Tottenham has stepped in as another candidate to sign the Cameroonian.
